The legal assistance Unit affiliated to the ACIJLP was able to release 4 of the defendants in the latest events of Abbasyia Square. They are:
1. Mohamed Sayed Mohamed Ahmed in crime No. 99 of 2012 North Military criminal court. He was released on 12/5/2012.
2. Mohamed Mahmoud Mohamed Kandil in crime No. 99 of 2012 North Military criminal court. He was released on of 3/6/2012.
3. Khaled Heshmat Shaker in crime No. 2 of 2012 east of the military criminal court. He was released on 3/6/2012.
4. Ahmed Abbas Mohammed Abdul Rahman in crime No. 122 of 2012 of East military criminal court. He was released on meeting of 3/6/2012.
It should be noted that the legal assistance Unit of the ACIJLP has received many complaints and reports from citizens about the arrest of their relatives and their disappearance as a result of the events of Abbasyia Square. Lawyers of the ACIJLP's legal assistance Unit submitted requests to appeal the decisions of the military prosecutor to imprison suspects and they are able to submit the justification for the preventive custody against the defendants in the appeal sessions and the military court has responded to the requests of the defense and the accused persons have been released.
