The ACIJLP hands over its Headquarters in accordance with legal procedures and undertakes its work again at the Headquarters

A police force from Misr al Qadema police station moved to the headquarters of the Arab Center for Independence of the Judiciary and the Legal Professions (ACIJLP) on January 8th 2012, in order to hand over the ACIJLP's headquarters to the ACIJLP's officials and staff according to the legal procedures requested by the ACIJLP before. It is worth mentioning that the ACIJLP refused to hand over the headquarters twice respectively.

Mr. Nasser Amin, hands over the ACIJLP's headquarters and the staff including the activists undertake their work directly at the headquarters again, after they undertaking their activity at the entrance of the Building in which the ACIJLP's headquarters is located.

It should be noted that the ACIJLP has already submitted a request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt in 2000 to conclude the Headquarters Agreement between the ACIJLP and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as an Arab regional organization which supports and strengthens the status of Justice and the independence of the judiciary and legal profession in the Arab States. The ACIJLP has already been registered in France as Arab non-governmental organization due to the legislative vacuum in Egyptian NGO's Act, regulating the establishment of the regional and international organizations in Egypt.

Proceedings were disrupted on the completion of the headquarters agreement between the ACIJLP and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Egypt, for reasons not attributable to the ACIJLP, which lead the ACIJLP to exercise its activity from Cairo, due to the legislative vacuum in Egyptian NGO's Act, regulating the establishment of the regional and international organizations in Egypt through the cooperation with all State institutions including governmental and non-governmental organizations until the ACIJLP has faced a forceful raid and closed on 29th December 2011.

Since the date of handing over its headquarters, the ACIJLP has begun its activities designed to support and enhance the status of justice in the Arab States. The ACIJLP will begin to re-activate its request submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to complete the request for concluding the Headquarters Agreement between the ACIJLP and the Egyptian government.
