"Assessing the Role of Egyptian women in Development and Economic Progress"

The Arab Center for Independence of the Judiciary and Legal Professions (ACIJLP) organizes a symposium on "Assessing the Role of Egyptian women in Development and Economic Progress".

The symposium will be held on Thursday, March 8th, 2012 at 9:00 pm and continue throughout the day until 5:00 pm in Cairo.

The symposium discusses many topics relevant to the role of Egyptian women in support of various development fields in order to achieve the desired progress after the 25th January Revolution through discussing the role that women have played in the fields of advancement at the international level, the views of political parties and its programs on supporting the participation of women in these fields in Egypt, strategies for civil society Organizations, mechanisms available to overcome the obstacles facing women's involvement in public life and identifying the most important mechanisms and legislation that must be developed in light of the changes caused by the 25th January Revolution in the Egyptian society.

40 participants from legal professionals, media figures and human rights activists will participate in the discussions.

The symposium comes within the framework of the ACIJLP’s activities on the project “Support Women Involvement in Public Life” which will continue over two years, with financial support from the European Union, and includes a number of conferences, workshops, seminars, relevant research papers and training courses.
