The ACIJLP Calls upon the President of the Republic and the judicial authorities
To open an extensive investigation to uncover all those involved in the violence and the instigators
And bring them to fair and equitable trial
The Arab Center for the Independence of the Judiciary and the Legal Profession (ACIJLP) expresses its full condemnation about all forms of violence, counter-violence taking place in the Egyptian arena at this time, and it also expresses its deep concern about the events occurred in the headquarters of "Republican Guard" at dawn on Monday 8 July 2013, and claimed the lives of many of the victims.
The ACIJLP is deeply concerned about the high rates of violence, and increasing violations of the right to life, and calls upon the concerned Egyptian authorities to undertake their responsibilities regarding the protection of the right to life.
The ACIJLP calls upon the concerned Egyptian authorities to take prompt and urgent procedures, to prosecute and bring to accountability the perpetrators and instigators of violence and killings, and to open an extensive investigation to reveal the identity of the instigators and perpetrators involved in these crimes, and to inform the public opinion immediately about the results of these investigations and bring the perpetrators to urgent trial, which ensure the guarantees of fair and equitable trial.
The ACIJLP believes that the reason behind the increasing levels of violence and extrajudicial killings, is that many cases of violence and killings witnessed in Egypt since the January revolution, In which many fact-findings committees were formed for it, did not result in disclosure of those involved in these crimes and gross violations of human rights or bringing them before the courts, and applying appropriate sanctions against them, a matter which supports a culture of impunity for those involved in such violations and encouraged to commit further acts of violence.
The ACIJLP emphasizes the need to take immediate and urgent actions, at all levels of the institutions of the Egyptian state including governmental and non-governmental organizations to adopt standards of tolerance, reconciliation and restoring political, social and human rights institutions and the establishment of the foundations of national reconciliation in order to protect society from chaos and desire for revenge. This protection should be rigid on everyone and enjoy the spirit of tranquility and common justice and stability, through the issuance of laws dealing with the current situation, and these laws should be stemming from the interest and need people, and laying the foundations of democracy.
The ACIJLP emphasizes that until the above mentioned measures and procedures are taken, the concerned Egyptian authorities are responsible for taking the necessary actions and measures to stop the calls and incitement to violence, and draining its resources within the framework of the legal and judicial measures.
