The twelfth Training Course on Egyptian Female lawyers
The Arab Center for the Independence of Judiciary and the Legal Profession (ACIJLP) organizes a training course on "Activating the international Conventions and Covenants on the Right of Women to participate in Public Life".
The training course will start on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the period from 4th, 5th and 6th December 2012 in Cairo at 9:00 am in Cairo.
15 female Egyptian lawyers will participate in the training course on different enrollment degrees in the Egyptian Bar Association. Many lawyers, law professors and activists in the field of human rights will participate in the training course.
The training course discussed many topics such as the concept of human rights, its origin and development. It will also discusses all international Covenants and conventions on women's issues, relevant national legislation, all the skills necessary to use international Covenants before national courts, identifying the international and national mechanisms available to protect women's right to hold public offices and mechanisms available to overcome the obstacles facing women's involvement in public life and identifying the most important mechanisms and legislation that must be developed in light of the changes caused by the 25th January Revolution in the Egyptian society.
The training course training to overcome the real dilemmas that prevent Egyptian women from their right to participate in public life, providing Egyptian female lawyers with many skills using relevant to international conventions related to women's right to participate in public life in front of national and international mechanisms, as well as the development of cognitive skills on international conventions ratified by Egypt and on women's rights and the status of these covenants in the hierarchy of national legislation. The 12th training course comes within the framework of the ACIJLP’s activities on the project “Support Women Involvement in Public Life” which will continue over two years, with financial support from the European Union, and includes a number of conferences, workshops, seminars, relevant research papers and training courses.
