“Future of Supreme Constitutional Court (SCC)  in Constitutionality Review”  -Cairo July 1998

Overview of the conference:

 

 It was held from 30 June to 1 July in 1998 in Cairo. A hundred and fifty attendees of legal scholars, law professors and interested persons in human rights and justice affairs in Egypt participated as well as discussion of twelve research papers during tow days.

The conference implied four sessions as well as opening session that included introductory note by justice. Awad El-Mour, president of High Constitutional Court at that time, on “evaluation of the experience of the constitutional court in Constitutional Control in 19 Years”.  Sessions headed by Dr. Yehya El-Gamal; Dr. Ahmed Abul-Majd; Dr. Mohamed El-Gamal and Dr. Ibrahim Darwish. In addition, conference involved some facilitators included Dr. Mohamed Salim El-Awwa; Dr. Atef El-Banna; Just. Adel Omar Sherif; Dr. Mohamed Mirghani Khayri; Mr. Shawki  El-Sayyed and Mr. Mohamed Sayed Saied.
